Junior Ages
Under 6 is a Mixed competition (Pending registration numbers) all other ages we will try and offer a boys, girls and mixed division (pending numbers)
6s, 8s and 10s divisions – all players will receive only one point per try. From 12s and up, females receive two points per try.
To be eligible to trial for our representative teams, the player must have played a minimum of 7 games in the one team in either of the 2 seasons prior to the tournament (ie Summer or Winter competition).
Senior Ages
All players must be 15 to take the field in a senior competition.
Mixed opens – the field is split with 4 males and 4 females, minimum 4 females must be on the field. @ points will be awarded for a female try and 1 point for a male try
Men’s Open – We will offer 2 divisions. Division 1 (Premier League) Division 2 (Championship). We will also offer a Men’s over 35 competition
Women’s Open – Open to all ages, Pending numbers we will offer a women’s standalone over 35s competition
Age Divisions
- 6s – Born 2019 or 2020 – Wednesday Afternoon at Kiama Sports Complex and Gainsborough Oval
- 8s – Born 2017 or 2018 – Wednesday Afternoon at Kiama Sports Complex and Gainsborough Oval (Pending numbers)
- 10s – Born 2015 or 2016 – Wednesday Afternoon at Kiama Sports Complex and Gainsborough Oval (Pending numbers)
- 12s – Born 2013 or 2014 – Tuesday Afternoon at Kiama Sports Complex and Gainsborough Oval (Pending numbers)
- 14s – Born 2011 or 2012 – Tuesday Afternoon at Kiama Sports Complex and Gainsborough Oval (Pending numbers)
- 16s – Born 2009 or 2010 – Tuesday Afternoon at Kiama Sports Complex and Gainsborough Oval (Pending numbers)
- Senior ages – Players must be 15 to take the field
- Monday Night – Overs 35s Men’s, Women’s, (over 35s Women’s pending numbers) at Gainsborough Oval/Chase
- Tuesday Night – Social Mixed competition at Kiama Sports Complex and Gainsborough Oval (Pending numbers)
- Wednesday Night – Men’s Division 1 and 2, Mixed Division 1 and 2 at Kiama Sports Complex
Competition Length
Our competition will kick off on the week of 7th of October and we will aim to have a 12 round competition plus finals for under 12s and up. This will depend on wet weather and cancellations however we will do our best to play as many rounds as possible. The competition will break for Christmas with the last round prior to the break the week of December 15th.
We will resume the week of January 27th and aim to be completed finals the week of February the 9th (subject to change depending on weather)
Forfeits
Teams who are unable to field the minimum of 5 registered players and are needing to forfeit are to advise by contacting 0404204518 by 12pm Midday the day of competition (preferably at the earliest notice).
Teams who forfeit and will be given a loss and a 5-0 win is given to the opposition.
Teams who advise of a forfeit after 12pm can be penalised additional points at the discretion of Kiama Oztag. Please be courteous of the other team and referees when forfeiting.
Team Uniforms
Teams must all be in matching ‘numbered’ shirts by Round 4.
6s, 8s and 10s age groups – Matching coloured shirts with numbers
12s,14s,16s and seniors need to be matching shirts with numbers
A penalty of one try per player out of uniform, will be awarded to the opposing team prior to starting the game. The referee will make a note of this and both teams will be informed before play starts. Should any team delegates have any queries they are to be addressed before or during the game with competition managers – not after the game.
Sign On Sheets
All teams are required to sign on each week prior to taking the field. If players fail to sign on, points may be deducted.
A forfeit may be awarded to the opposing team when a team has less than 5 players signed on. If you are not signed on, you are not insured.
Backup Players
Any teams who are not able to field 8 players, are permitted to find a ‘back up’ player.
A ‘Back Up’ player must be registered in the same season at the same venue, back ups can only be up to 8 players, not to have substitutes. Teams are not permitted to have ‘back up’ player/s in order to create substitutes for the team.
Finals & Representative Eligibility
Players must play a minimum of four games to be eligible for finals & seven games to be eligible for representative teams.
Send Offs
If you are sent off the field in any competition game you must referee or ground official prior to returning to playing. You may also be suspended for a number of games, this will be decided by the committee and the team delegate will be notified. You must not return to play until you have been notified.
Teams Arriving Late
All teams are expected to arrive on time for their matches. Should teams be arriving late, they will be penalised one point (try) per minute up to five minutes, at the discretion of the Competition Management. After five minutes the game may be deemed a forfeit, at discretion of Competition Management.
