Australian Teams: 16’s, 18’s, 35’s 45’s & 55’s


Agenda for 2019, 2020 & 2021

There is no 16’s, 18’s, 35’s, 45’s & 55’s in the 2021 Tag World Cup in Limerick, Ireland.

Therefore, Australian Oztag has put into place the following agenda for these teams so players don’t miss the opportunity to represent Australia.

Already announced, the current 2019 Australian teams including 16’s, 18’s & the 17’s development squad will travel to New Zealand in March/April (TBA) 2020 to compete in the Trans Tasman.


Australian Championships 2019

Australian Oztag will select a new 2020 Australian 16’s, 18’s, 35’s, 45’s & 55’s team to compete in the 2020 Trans Tasman Test series.

The current 2019 Australian players will be ineligible for the 2020 teams as they will already be competing in the Trans Tasman.

The current 17’s Australian development players are selected in the 2020 18’s team, the vacated positions in the 17’s team will be filled with new members from the 2019 Australian Championships. This new team will be the Australian 18’s Barbarians.


Australian Championships 2020

The 35’s division is being dissolved in 2020 so there will be no 35’s team selected.

Australian Oztag will select Australian teams, 16’s, 18’s, 45’s & 55’s to participate in a tournament TBA in 2021.

Australian Oztag will also select ‘Rest of the World’ teams to play the 2021 Australian World Cup teams in a preparation tournament in early 2021. Date TBA.
