Day one of the annual NSW Junior State Cup has concluded, the level of talent and adherence to protocol deeming it a great success.
A startling 262 teams will be attendance this weekend, totally to over 4000 players and 8000 spectators. Tournament officials have commended those present today for their compliance with the newly introduced regulations.
Today saw the 12s, 13s and 14s age groups quickly apply their months of preparation to competition games; the wide display of skill and sportsmanship was a credit to each player.
These age groups will return tomorrow to lay it all on the line for their remaining round games and Finals.
The following teams were undefeated at the conclusion of day one, putting themselves in a promising position heading into Friday.
Girls 12s Cronulla
Girls 12s Central Coast
Boys 12s Baulkham Hills
Boys 13s Parramatta
Girls 14s Baulkham Hills
Friday will see some age groups converge on the main stadium for their Finals. As numerous teams vacate, gathering numbers will decline in Zone 1, allowing families and siblings the opportunity to attend – they will be granted first access via the front gate.
Staff will be monitoring the number of people within the stadium to ensure AO adhere to the Public Health Order of no more than 3000-person gathering.
If numbers permit, unsuccessful teams will be granted access to the stadium to support other teams from their association.
As of 12.30pm tomorrow, Field 1 games will be live streamed on the Australian Oztag and NSW Oztag Facebook page, as well as via Cluch Tv – link on our website.
AO look forward to crowning the first of our 2021 NSW Junior State Cup Champions before welcoming the 15s, 16s and 17s age groups on Saturday and Sunday.
