The first burst of Champions have been crowned on day two of the 2021 NSW Junior State Cup, setting the bar high for Sunday’s playoffs.
Teams adjusted well to the unfamiliar game on, game off format; the exhibition of speed, skill and endurance proved testament to the preparation of all teams.
Despite the added pressure of qualifying, today saw a new level of excitement and composure. The atmosphere during Finals was heightened after families, siblings and unsuccessful teams were welcomed in the stadium to support.
Staff continually monitored the number of people within the stadium to ensure AO adhered to the Public Health Order of no more than 3000-person gathering.

Heading into day three of the tournament, Central Coast and Baulkham Hills are sitting at the top of the Club Champions ladder.
Australian Oztag (AO) look forward to welcoming the 15’s, 16’s and 17’s tomorrow, as they too compete for the Junior State Champions title, at a tournament run like never before.
AO were extremely pleased with the running of the first two days of the tournament; with players and officials to be commended for their compliance with regulations.
The response to the tournament’s new format, including zones, sessions and the game on/game off configuration was overwhelmingly positive. The remainder of the tournament will run in the same way.
