The 2019 NSW Senior City v Country tournament returns to the Central Coast on Saturday, with the Southern City Seahawks, Western City Scorpions, Northern Country Knights and Southern Country Pride all set to battle for bragging rights.
Oztag Australia has taken a look over the team lists for Saturday and picked out five players to keep an eye on at Tuggerah.
Isabella Slattery – Southern City Seahawks Mixed 20s
A perennial powerhouse in Australian representative teams over the past few years, Slattery is arguably the most dangerous female in the Mixed 20s division.
Slattery helped the East Coast Dolphins claim the 2018 Australian Championships title, then starred for Souths on their run to the grand final at the NSW State Cup earlier this year.
Keegan Woods – Western City Scorpions Men’s 20s
A star of the World Cup winning Australian Men’s 20s side, Woods is running out of room in his trophy cabinet after adding a Nationals and State Cup title to his resume in the past six months.
Woods will feature in a strong Western City Scorpions side and is one of the most electric players in the Men’s 20s division
Kadu Maques – Western City Scorpions Men’s Open
After a short stint playing mixed Oztag, Maques has returned to the Men’s Opens division and will play with the Scorpions on the Central Coast.
The former Australian rep, who led Penrith to the NSW State Cup semi finals, is a serious game changer and will cause rival defences plenty of headaches on Saturday.
Sian George – Northern Country Knights Women’s Open
One of the more experienced players in the Women’s Opens division on the Central Coast this weekend, George knows how to get things done at the business end of the tournament.
The Northern Country Knights gun claimed a State Cup title earlier this year and finished runners up at Nationals.
Kailey Gorman – Southern Country Pride Women’s 20s
Gorman has been one of ACT’s best at both the NSW State Cup and Nationals over a number of years and will get another chance to prove she can match it with the best this weekend, when she play in a Pride side featuring eight girls from the nation’s capital.
