Canberra school St Francis Xavier dominated proceedings at the ACT Secondary Schools tournament.
92 teams from the nation’s capital competed in the tournament, which was split into North and South Divisions.
St Francis Xavier won three of four possible titles, taking out the Girls 7/8, Girls 9/10 and Boys 9/10 divisions in the north, while Daramalan College beat Amaroo School in the Boys 7/8 final.
In the south, St Mary MacKillop and Melrose met in the Boys 7/8 and Girls 7/8 deciders with each school winning one final each.
St Clare’s College won the Girls 9/10 and Caroline Chisholm School took out the Boys 9/10.
“It was a fantastic day of Oztag, the quality was really high,” ACT Oztag Development Officer Amy Spence said.
“The winner’s of each division will now compete in the Battle of North v South to determine the best school team in the ACT.”
A number of players from those winning sides will compete at next month’s NSW City v Country tournament on the Central Coast.
Players from the ACT and southern NSW will combine to form Southern Country Pride and play matches against Northern Country Knights, Southern City Seahawks and Western City Scorpions over the June long weekend.
