Central Coast Oztag are excited to announce our Tiny Taggers Program and Tiny Taggers Competition. These are offered to children 4-6 and not yet currently attending Primary school enabling them to learn the game of Oztag and play in a friendly competition.

Our Tiny Taggers program and competition are each 8 weeks between October-December at the below locations:

– Kincumber (Frost Reserve) – Mondays

– Umina (Col Gooley Fields) – Tuesdays

– Woongarrah (Sports Field) – Tuesdays

– Bateau Bay (Edsacc South) – Wednesdays

What is the Tiny Taggers Program?

Tiny Taggers is a program for children aged from 4-6 years to get involved in Oztag. This is an introductory program for children helps to learn the skills and rules before being able to join our competitions.

What ages is the Tiny Taggers program for?

The Tiny Taggers program is for players aged 4-6. Players must have turned 4 by the time the program starts (October) at the minimum to participate.

Do we need a team to participate?

For the Tiny Taggers program the children do not need a team, it an individual registration in which we will then group the kids into groups and have them with the same coach for the 8 week duration.

How do I make sure my child is in the same group as their friend however?

We are happy to work with requests to place players in the same groups, however players may be moved between groups if it provides them a better learning environment.

How much is registration for the Tiny Taggers program?

The Tiny Taggers program is $115 for the 8 weeks which includes a free Tiny Taggers shirt with the childs name on the back.

Do we need Oztag shorts or tights to participate?

Oztag shorts or tights are encouraged to be worn in all levels of Oztag. They can be purchased at the time of registering online for $30 Shorts or $35 for tights (female bike shorts) or by attending one of our Shorts/Tights sale days in September (Dates TBA). If a player however does not have shorts or tights players in our Tiny Taggers can be provided with a belt to use for the program.

What will my child learn in the Tiny Taggers program?

Your child will learn the fundamentals of playing a game of Oztag. These include tagging, passing, catching, kicking, playing the ball and most of all having fun!

How do I register?

Registrations will open on Friday 26th July at 6pm. At 6pm head to the Central Coast Tiny Taggers Facebook page in which a team code for the venue you wish to register your child at will be provided. Please note there will be a cap of the amount of children that can register per venue. With this code you will then head to https://sportfix.net/CentralCoastUminaandLisarowOztag press “Join Team”, enter the team code, input all information, select shirt size and name to be written on the back and have the option to purchase any shorts or tights should you wish.

As a parent/carer do I need to be present at the field?

There must be a parent/carer present at the field at all times with their child. It is the parent/carers responsibility to monitor the behaviour of their child and be present incase of any issues that may arise.

Can I use an Active kids voucher to help with the registration costs?

No, as the program does not meet the Services NSW minumum number of weeks to be eligible to the Active Kids Vouchers.

Do players wear football boots?

Yes they are recommended on a football field, however if they do not have them joggers are fine.

How do we know if games are cancelled if it is raining?

Monitor Central Coast Tiny Taggers Facebook page for any updates regarding changes due to weather.

Always assume the program is going ahead unless Central Coast Oztag post otherwise.

When does the program start?

Early October – players will be advised of the exact date after registrations have completed. The prgoram will run from October – late December (8 week duration).

What is the Tiny Taggers Competition?

The Tiny Taggers competition is for children aged 5-6 years, and played on a modified size field with 6 players on the field.

How many players are in a team for the Tiny Taggers Competition?

Teams must have 8 players to register so that there are 2 substitutes incase people are away/sick etc.

Do we need a coach?

Teams must have a coach that is on the field with the team at all times directing players to who’s run it may be, who is in at dummy half, where to bring the ball back to the tag etc.

It would be best for the team if the coach was familiar with the game of Oztag and has an understanding of the rules.

Team coaches in our Tiny Taggers program must hold a current Working With Children Check that it is be supplied to centralcoastoztag@gmail.com

What ages is the Tiny Taggers competition for?

Players must be born in 2018 or 2019 to take the field in our Tiny Taggers competition. They must have also have played in an organised weekly competition in 2024 and be familiar with a competition environment and following instructions from referees and coaches.

How do I register a team?

Online registrations open on Friday July 26th July via Sportsfix.net/CentralCoastUminaandLisarowOztag in which a team delegate is to go on and register the team. From here they will forward their team confirmation email to all players for each individual to complete their registration.

Please note each venue can hold a maximum of 8 teams. If you miss out on securing a spot please email breeoztag@gmail.com 

If I don't have a team of 8 can we still play?

If you do not have a team please email breeoztag@gmail.com and include childs name, DOB, competition venue, phone number, email, school they are attending in 2025, and any players names they may be looking to join with that are also registering individually.

Central Coast Oztag will group players in teams of 8 and pass details on for teams to be formed from the group. Each team will be required to organise, matching team shirts/singlets, a team coach (someone who must be on the field with the team at all times) and create a group chat (suggested Whatsapp) to confirm players availability and communication.

How long does the game go for?

Games will played at either 4.35pm or 5.10pm and will vary each week. The games consist of  two 16 minute halves.

Do we keep scores of games?

Tiny Taggers competition is purely for participation and scores will not be uploaded to the app nor a ladder recorded. This is classed as a “non competition” age group.

How do I find the team draw?

We use an app called Sportfix. Here you will be able to see the season fixtures which include the game time for that week. Games will be played at 4.35pm or 5.10pm each week.

As a parent/carer, do I need to be present at the field?

How many boys or girls in a team?

Teams can consist of all boys, all girls or a mixture.

Where can we purchase shirts/singlets from?
