2020 NSW Junior State Cup (12-17) Day 1 Wrap

With many people anticipating that we wouldn’t be able to play today, Australian Oztag would like to acknowledge the fantastic work done by the C.ex International Stadium ground staff to get us on for a full day’s play.

At 9pm yesterday, the odds of playing were extremely thin but with 13 playable fields, every team managed to get their 3 games in. Everyone in the Oztag community is appreciative and thankful of all the hard work done by the council staff to get play underway.

After Day 1, we’ve got the following teams leading their divisions:

Boys 12 – Central Coast
Boys 13 – Sutherland
Boys 14 – Central Coast
Boys 15 – Cronulla
Boys 16 – Macarthur
Boys 17 – Easts

Girls 12 – St.George
Girls 13 – ACT Cougars
Girls 14 – Wollongong
Girls 15 – Central Coast
Girls 16 – Baulkham Hills
Girls 17 – Cronulla

Make sure to get some good rest this evening in preparation for another big day tomorrow at the 2020 NSW Junior State Cup (12-17) Day 2.

See you all bright and early tomorrow, with matches kicking off at 8.30am.

2020 Junior State Cup (12-17) Friday Games On – Revised Draw

2020 Junior State Cup (12-17) Friday Games On – Revised Draw

The fields have held up well despite the heavy rain in the last 48 hours.

The Coffs Harbour council ground staff have given us the green light to play, with limited fields. We will be starting at 10am today, using a revised draw on 13 fields.

The games will be reduced to 17mins, with a straight turnaround at 8 minutes 30 seconds. This is not a half time break so coaches are not permitted on the field during this quick turnaround.

We will continue to monitor the weather throughout the day. If play has to be suspended or postponed, 3 loud sirens will sound.

2020 NSW Junior State Cup (12-17) Update

2020 NSW Junior State Cup (12-17) Update

We’ve currently got some light rain here in Coffs Harbour (Thursday, 10am) but the playing fields are holding up fine at this stage and the tournament will be going ahead as per schedule.

If we experience heavy rain today and some fields need to be closed, we do have a number of contingency back up draws so the tournament can still go ahead.

In the past we have had to close some fields and even suspend play but we have always completed the tournament.

The Tournament Director will be liaising with ground staff regularly and we will provide further updates if and when they arise.

Safe travels everyone and see you in Coffs Harbour!
